Horfield, Bristol, BS7 8UR
Blues Rock Revue has come about because after several years of listening to other local live bands in Bristol and the surrounding area, I was thinking why can’t North Bristol have some of this great live blues & rock music.
A new opportunity to revive live music on a regular basis at the Wellington in Horfield Bristol, has been brought about by a fruitful discussion with the new manager Buckley and the team at Bath Ales.
Various musicians and band members who have historically played the Wellington tell me it has a great vibe and atmosphere.
I love the Blues and the emotions it can bring to you. It can make you cry and smile till it hurts. It can reach parts other music cannot.
I love to see and watch great musicians play and inspire each other, creating a competitive narrative along the fret board of which only the blues and great rock sounds can produce.
It has been said and can be argued the Blues is at the root of all music.
Around the end of the 19th century, originating from African and American communities in the deep South. The Blues has progressed throughout America and Europe and produced some great artists, including Robert Johnson, Hendrix, Peter Green, Clapton, BB King, to name but a few. The Blues still is the most thought provoking and heart rendering music which somehow still touches the nerve ends of our bodies.
We have great bands and musicians lined up for the coming months, so please come along and let your nerve ends tingle with delight.
So bring it on, bring it back, make more music. Keep it live.
Yours Brian Adams
